Reseller Account Creation Guide

Account Creation as a Reseller

After logging on to your reseller account, you are able to add customer accounts.

Please follow the steps below:

1.      Open the “Users” tab.

2.      Click on “New User”.

3.      Select the organization name of the user or create a new organization by typing its name in the organization window.

4.     Provide the user’s Email address.

5.      Click “Next”.

6.    Select the product you would like to grant access to and click “Next”.

Note: You can provide access to any application separately later on, after creating the user, as the API Key can be different for each of them. However, it is also possible to select all the applications and request them at the same time.

7   Choose the Access Type. You can choose either “Paying” or “Evaluation”. Keep in mind that you will need to contact the TomTom administrator to change the account type once it is saved.

8   Set the expiry date by selecting a specific day in the calendar and click “Next”.

9      Customize the account settings for this specific user. After that click “Create”.

10 For now, the status of the user’s account is going to be “inactive” because the e-mail address needs to be confirmed on their end. You can see that in the “Users” tab.

The user will receive two emails:

1) The first e-mail contains the activation link to verify the email address and the account. The user can set up the password by clicking “Activate My Account”.

Below you can see screenshots of the password setting process. The user needs to provide their unique password, repeat it, and then click “Set Password”

Once the password is set up correctly, the following message will appear:

From this point, user can sign in to the Move portal by using the credentials provided during password setting process and the e-mail address.

2) The second email contains information that the access to the selected application(s) has been successfully granted.

At the same time the reseller will also be informed via e-mail that the access to the selected application was granted to the user.

If the account with its new password is confirmed by the user and the product access is granted, it is possible to use the Move portal. Based on the example scenario above, the outcome would look like this:

In case any difficulties appear during the creation of the account, please do not hesitate to contact us at MoveSupport@tomtom.com.

Keep in mind that you can change or revoke access and change the access type to the apps at any given time. To do that, you need to open the “Users” tab and select the account you are interested in by clicking on the e-mail address.

Setting Limits for Customer Accounts

As a reseller, you are able to set up the custom usage limits for each product in the Move platform except Road Event Reporter.

To do that, you need to log in to your reseller account, go to the Users tab and click on the e-mail address of any of your users. That way, you will be able to manage their account settings and the applications limits.

After that, scroll down in the user account management view and click on the edit button which is located under the “Access” checkboxes of all the following Move applications: Traffic Stats, O/D Analysis and Route Monitoring.

1. Route Monitoring

While setting up the limits for Route Monitoring application usage, it is possible to specify the following values:

A) Number of routes available for single account (the total number of routes a user can create on the account)

B) Maximum route length (how long, in kilometers, can a single route be)

C) Geographical limit (load the GeoJson with the defined limitations or draw a specific region where the user will be able to analyze the road network data. The geographical limit can also be exported in case you want to set the same limit to a couple of applications)

Example of Route Monitoring usage limits imposed on the user account.

2. O/D Analysis

While setting up the limits for O/D Analysis application usage, it is possible to specify the following values:

A) Number of reports to create (the number of separate analyses per account)

B) Number of kilometers to consume (the number of kilometers in Road Network Coverage which will be used for pricing purposes)

C) Number of square kilometers to consume (total area size in kilometers squared that user will be able to analyze in all O/D Analysis reports)

D) Geographical limit (load the GeoJson with the defined limitations or draw a specific region where the user will be able to analyze the road network data. The geographical limit can also be exported in case you want to set the same limit to a couple of applications)

Example of O/D Analysis usage limits imposed on the user account.

3. Traffic Stats

While setting up the limits for Traffic Stats application usage, it is possible to specify the following values:

A) Number of kilometers to consume (total value of road network length kilometers the user will be able to analyze in reports). Keep in mind that segments with no data will not be counted as consumed limit.

B) Number of reports to create (the number of separate analyses per account)

C) Maximum route length (how long, in kilometers, can a route be in the analysis)

D) Traffic Density only (restricts the customer to create Traffic Density reports only)

E) Geographical limit (load the GeoJson with the defined limitations or draw a specific region where the user will be able to analyze the road network data. The geographical limit can also be exported in case you want to set the same limit to a couple of applications)

Example of Traffic Stats usage limits imposed on the user account.

In case you are not sure what the specific limit value means, you can use the tips that are visible in the user account settings. A popup message with a brief explanation will appear once you hover your pointer over them, for example:

Example Limits:

1. Let’s assume that you are reselling access to a 4000 road network length kilometers package for Traffic Stats only. All you need to do is to set the Number of kilometers to consume value to 4000.

Below you can see how these limits are displayed on the user end:

4. Traffic Stats + OD Analysis package

In case of a bundle sell, where you want to grant access to, for example, 4000 kilometers combined you will need to select "Add TS + OD package" which is located straight under the account settings:

The additional window will appear, where you will be able to provide the number of kilometers to consume:

What's more, you can add a number of reports to create if applicable:

The bundle limits can’t exceed the value of 4000 kilometers (depending on the package sold) for both applications combined, but the proportions may be custom, for example, 2500 km & 1500 km.

Below you can see how these limits are displayed on the user end from the Dashboard:

The limits can also be viewed directly in the application:

Keep in mind:

  • adding the TS + OD package, you overwrite the limits set separately for each of the applications. Once saved, you won't be able to reverse to previous settings.
  • editing the existing limits you will not reset the customer's usage. To reset the usage, you need to Add New Access.
