Introduction
Map Versions

The map version allows you to adjust the map matching of TomTom data to the road network. Different map versions are used to analyze the traffic data based on various road geometries that may change over time.

The following table shows the supported date ranges and recommended map versions to analyze them.

Main Map Versions:

Date Range SupportMap Version
2008.01.01 - 2019.01.312016.12
2019.02.01 - 2020.12.312018.12
2021.01.01 - 2021.12.312020.12
2022.01.01 - 2022.12.312021.12

Main map versions are using already map-matched data which reduces calculation time and delivers your data faster. This can also deliver your results on a bigger scale.

You are also able to perform reports on a stable map version across many months in the same year.

Additional Map Versions:

If needed you can select other map versions. This option is available only for the latest 2 years of data (this is a moving time window).

Besides the mentioned one-year cadence of the main map version switched every year, we allow the use of other minor map versions released each quarter. For example, when asking for a date range between January and February 2020, you can use the 2020.03 map version.

In most cases, this will take a little longer to deliver such a result due to the additional map-matching process.

Additional map versions released for each quarter.
